About

mae was established in 2018 by amanda mae foster. after spending almost a decade in the beauty industry, amanda was diagnosed with lymphoma. organic color saved her life, and her career after her oncologist suggested she quit her job working with toxic hair color. she began to dream of a collaborative place where stylists can form a love for clean beauty, and where she could educate the community about the harmful chemicals in everyday beauty products. she named the salon after her late grandmother (whom she was named after) thelma mae morley, who passed away of lymphoma before she was born.

Team

  • Amanda Foster

Amanda’s passion for holistic living started at a young age but was brought into full swing after being diagnosed with lymphoma in 2015. Her journey with cancer had the silver lining of connecting her with so many incredible people. After realizing how important it is to have a network of others to share their stories, she decided that an organic salon and apothecary was the perfect platform to bring people together in a positive place of beauty and wellness.

  • Maggie Phelps

One of those elusive Nashville Natives, Maggie is well-versed in creative fields. She grew up in the music industry and began singing professionally at 12 years old. After years of doing hair and makeup for prom and weddings, she decided to change her career path from vocal performance to cosmetology. Some of her favorite things to do behind the chair are subtle lived in color and vibrant fashion colors.
